Miho Hazama og Radioens Big Band

Den japanske Grammy-nominerede komponist og dirigent for Radioens Big Band, Miho Hazama, vil udgive et nyt album med orkestret til efteråret – og det bliver på Edition Records.



Miho Hazama, som den amerikanske magasin Down Beat har udråbt til at tilhøre 25 for the future har tidligere arbejdet med kapaciteter som Joshua Redman, Lionel Loueke, Stefon Harris og Gil Goldstein.

I pressemeddelelsen fra Edition fortæller Miho Hazama:
—This is a significant milestone-moment for me. Since I have a classical music background, my brain sound has been more symphonic. That’s why, writing for big band had always been always challenging. However, the DR Big Band changed my perspective to big band sound. They are so open and enthusiastic to new music, and yet, they can play diverse music with organic flow. After a couple of years working with them, I became to think that whenever I record my original music with a big band for the first time, that has to be with the DR Big Band.
